WHY – This month long event that will be held annually worldwide in the month of May. It is the first of its kind to recognize the contributions and collective significance of women of all ages riding waves around the world.  Environmentally conscious this month will celebrate wave riding, its lifestyle and the importance of sustainability of ocean resources. It will give us an opportunity to connect and celebrate your stories. This years theme: Sharing Our Stories

Wave riding incudes, surfing, stand up paddling, body/boogie boarding, body surfing, kite surfing & wind surfing.

Another purpose of the celebration is to promote the popularity of riding waves, to attract new women to participate and to share these sports with the youth we influence.

The month is observed with beach days, surf contests, art and music events, barbecues, film screenings and other surf/ocean-related activities. Individuals and groups can also use the day to give back to the environment by organizing beach clean-ups, dune and other habitat restoration and other activities

We invite you to join and support the first Women's International Surfing Month. We will give you ideas and share collective ideas that you submit  to inspire celebrations around the world. We will also provide you with downloadable graphics, logos and posters for you to promote this worldwide event.

The Wahine Project is a host of exceptional ability. Studies show that a vast majority of guests attending events by Wahine have been known to leave more elated than visitors to Santa's Workshop, The Lost of Continent of Atlantis, and the Fountain of Youth.
